Microsoft Surface Pro model is a hybrid, 2-in-1 detachable tablet based on Windows 10, and also comes with an keyboard accessory Type Cover. Which has a proper backlit keyboard along with touchpad. The Backlit feature can light up the physical key for nighttime typing and gaming easily. But a few peole could not find a way to enable it.I had connected type cover to my Surface Pro 3 tablet through a magnetic mechanism and everything was fine except backlight function, while I was working in an environment without adequate lighting. I reattached it and it was still not working at all. I opened the Setting app and there was no such option to turn it on or off in Windows 10. It is simple to use the backlight brightness adjustment keys on keyboard.
The option is the F1 or F2 key and F1 is next to Esc key. Press the F1 to decreases brightness and the backlight goes down intensity and finally is disable completely. If your device will be running out of battery, you’b better disable the function to save power. And press and hold the F2, which is next to F1, is used to increase brightness level. When you have enabled Fn-lock, you need to hold Fn and also hit F1 or F2 to make change, or use Fn+Capslock to toggle it and try the above method again. If the tips doesn’t take any effects, the type cover might be broken.
